Thankyou Phil Brown!

By Shane Hudson

Following Phil Brown's resignation, Lancaster City FC would like to place on record it's thanks for his service.

Lancaster City FC wish to place on record their immense thanks to Phil, who has been a dedicated, passionate and loyal servant to the club through his career; as a player, assistant manager and most recently as manager. Phil has brought great success and stability to the club in his spell as manager and leaves us on good terms with many happy memories of successful games.

Brown became Dolly blues manager part-way through the 2015/16 season, leading the team to a top 6 finish along with becoming runners up in the LFA Challenge Trophy. In his first full season as manager, Brown led the club the NPL Div 1 North title, where a final day win over Glossop NE sealed the title and promotion for the Dolly Blues.

Last season Brown enjoyed yet another successful campaign, stabilizing City’s place in the NPL Premier Division at the first time of asking.

Off the pitch, Brown has been a pivotal part of the club, assisting with many projects and offering much more support than just a manager.

The club would also like to wish Phil all the best for the future, whatever that may bring and you'll always be welcome back to Giant Axe.
