Lancaster City FC and Morecambe FC join forces for Pre Season Family Fun Festival

7 months ago By Shane Hudson

Lancaster City FC & Morecambe FC are to stage a Family Fun Festival Day and pre season friendly at Giant Axe in July in aid Unique Kidz & Co.

Building on the successful charity event held at Morecambe's Globe Arena last season, Lancaster City FC will host this year's Charity Fundraising Festival on Saturday, July 14, raising money for an outstanding local cause.

Shane Hudson, General Manager of Lancaster City FC said the clubs were delighted to be putting on another high profile community event this summer.

He said: "We are delighted to become hosts of this year's event and be able to help raise money to assist the magnificent work that Unique Kidz & Co. are doing in the local area.

"We are looking forward to seeing members of the community, young and old, from across North Lancashire come together as one to celebrate and support a truly amazing cause."

The day will be a full afternoon event for all the family to enjoy and will see the children be able to take in bouncy castles, face-painting, sweet treats and much more, before heading into the ground as a family to continue the day, taking in a football match between Lancaster City FC and Morecambe FC at 3pm.

Rod Taylor, Morecambe FC Director, said: "The day will be fully focused on giving the local community a Family Fun Day to come and attend together, along with raising as much money as possible for Unique Kidz & Co.

"The funds raised will help the fantastic work they do in the local community, providing opportunities for play, relaxation, socialising and development; for young people with additional needs.''

Unique Kidz and Co is a Morecambe based charity which runs a range of
services for disabled children, young people and their families. Founded in
2009, the charity was set up by two mums, Denise and Jane, who were unable
to find suitable childcare for their own disabled children.

"A trusted service for disabled children and young adults. A place to play,
have fun, make friends and be unique."

Full details will be announced over the coming weeks.
