MATCH PREVIEW: City vs. Matlock Town

By Media Team

By Jack Towers

City return to Giant Axe Saturday as they look to return to winning ways against Matlock Town.

The Dollies come in to this game on the back of back to back league defeats for the first time under Mark Fell. Matlock Town, themselves, have not won in two, but sit comfortably high in the table and will by no means be an easy team to break down.

Manager's thoughts

"Craig got an offer that he couldn’t turn down and leaves on good terms, we’d been carrying 4 centre half’s with Olly Muir out on loan as well so it’s not an area we are short, if something comes up we’ll look at it but a forward is higher on the priority list.

"Other than Workington the performances have been good, New Years Day we’ve had a perfectly legitimate goal ruled out for 2-0, then a stonewall penalty turned down at 1-1, if we maintain our levels more consistently we’ll be fine, but we have to start taking chances when we’re on top.

"They’re (Matlock Town) a good side who are doing well. We’ve done our homework and we’ll work on ways to combat them.

"Our home form is something we want to address quickly and these next two games give us chance to do that."
