Lancaster City FC are delighted to announce the signing of experienced midfielder David Norris. He arrives at the Giant Axe from National League North club Boston and goes straight into the squad for tomorrow's game at North Ferriby.
The midfield lieutenant needs no introduction to football fans, a combative midfielder who has over 400 football league games under his belt for the likes of Leeds, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Ipswich and Blackpool. This season he played several games for Boston before leaving the club due to the distance from his Bolton home, and Fell says he's been top of our wanted list at the Axe for some time, "I've chased David for ages," he said, "he's absolutely fit as a butchers dog so his age is irrelevant, he's a winner, a great character and will be a great influence on the rest of the lads. I've known him for a while and always chipped away at him to come and play for me, he's turned down some other great offers to come here, he's seen how we operate and wants to be part of it."
David finished his full time career two seasons ago, having played 30 games for Blackpool in 2016, he went onto play for Salford City in their promotion season, and nearly 59 games for Shaw Lane last term. After his full time career ended he set up the successful Unique Fitness which has gyms in Bolton and Pontefract. He has yet to play in the FA trophy this season so would be available if the Dollies can navigate a way past Guiseley, but he wasn't registered in time for the replay.
Welcome to the club David.
