News: Phil Brown Signs Midfield Duo

1 year ago By LCFC Media

Lancaster City manager Phil Brown has wasted little time in adding to his title-winning squad for the new campaign in the Northern Premier League.

Midfield duo Sam Bailey and Scott Harries have both signed for the Dolly Blues as Phil Brown prepares his promotion-winning squad for life in the NPL Premier Division.

Sam Bailey, a fan-favourite well known to City fans, signs after a successful spell at Kendal Town where he netted 17 league goals in their 2016/17 campaign. The versatile player graduated from Bolton Wanderers' academy has played in a number of positions across the pitch, predominantly in central midfield and the right wing.

Scott Harries signs from fellow NPL Premier Division side Warrington Town. The winger is quoted as being a long-term target for City boss Phil Brown and has had previous spells at AFC Fylde, Clitheroe and Northwich Victoria.

Lancaster City can also officially confirm that both Jordan Connerton and Mike Hale have left the club for personal reasons. Connerton, one of the most prolific strikers in our clubs' history, has moved to Australia. Hale sadly could not commit to the increased time and travelling required in our new division.

We extend our full gratitude to both players for their dedication and superb performances over the years, particularly their key roles in helping the club win our long awaited title last season.
