A Lancaster City side taking part in a local summer league is to provide a opportunity for local, talented players to trial for the club and showcase their skills.
The team will be lead and watched on by 1st team Manager Mark Fell and Development Squad Manager Shane Hudson who will be hoping to spot talent to add to their respective squads as well as identifying players to form an Under 18's side next season.
Talking about the opportunity the team provides, Mark Fell says;
"I’m always keen to look at players in the area who may be at the standard. This gives us a chance to trial players in competitive games with a view to inviting the best down to train with us in pre-season. It’s a good opportunity for those who think they may have not had the chance, all we can do is give an honest assessment and hope we can pick up a gem in the summer to make us stronger next season."
He adds, "the other key aspect is recruiting a high standard of U18 and development squad players that we can develop as part of our player pathway strategy."
Shane Hudson continues;
"We'd welcome any local players who think they're of the standard required to make themselves known and show us what they can do. We're always keen to have more local talent representing our teams and by playing these games over summer, we hope to give opportunity to the players of Lancaster and surrounding areas."
Players interested in trialling over summer should initially express interest by email to firstname.lastname@example.org stating their; name, age, playing positon and brief playing history.
